To establish the most unwanted freelancing services in the UAE, we looked into data from one of the most recent surveys to determine the most popular platforms amongst freelancers in the UAE. The study by Bawabba, one of UAE’s leading freelancing platforms, compares the number of gig workers on three of the most popular websites under various categories. Some categories, such as health and well-being, are unpopular among freelancers. Acupressurist and acupuncturist, for example, had one freelancer each, on Bawabba, with the other platforms having no expert on record. The list of the ten most unwanted freelancing services corresponds to the hardly sought after freelance skills by talent-seekers. According to a comparison study report featuring Nabeesh, Bawabba, and Xpertin, the most popular freelancing platforms in the UAE, below are the findings for each of the above categories. 1. Health and Well-being
The health and well-being category has some of the most unwanted freelancing services in the UAE. Under the class, the least popular health and well-being services are as shown in the table below.
According to these findings, chiropractors, acupressurists, and acupuncturists are the least sought after professionals. Each category has only one gig worker across the three platforms. 2. Maintenance
The UAE has very few freelancers offering services in the maintenance category, as highlighted in the table below.
None of the three platforms has a freelance auto mechanic. Carpet repair and laying, pest control, and furniture repair have one, three, and three freelancers, respectively. 3. Moving
The moving freelance category features among the least sought after services in the UAE, with no freelancer providing custom and clearance services.
4. Academic Classes
Talent seekers in the UAE are least interested in freelance educational classes by the number of available freelancers on the three most popular platforms.
According to the above statistics, GRE classes are most unwanted, followed by GMAT, SAT, and Social Studies classes. 5. Hobby Classes
Hobby classes may not be the most rewarding skills for freelancers in the UAE, especially for skill sets featured in the table below.
6. Language Classes
If you are planning to provide language classes as a freelancer in the UAE, you may have to seek opportunities in other markets since talent-seekers are hardly looking for the services.
Apart from Japanese classes with one freelancer, the other classes have no professionals offering those services. 7. Sports Coaching
Sports coaching on freelance capacity may be a worthwhile venture in other markets, save for the UAE.
Most of the sports coaching sub-categories have zero to one freelancer across the three popular platforms. Based on the findings, sports coaching is one of the most unwanted freelancing services in the Emirate. 8. Beauty and Skincare
Very few talent-seekers trust freelancers to provide beauty and skincare services.
Both Xpertin and Nabeesh have no service providers in the category. Only Bawabba has a handful of freelancers offering services for beauty and skincare talent seekers. 9. Child and Pet Care
Taking care of infants and pets may not be a popular freelance service in the UAE.
According to the findings above, grooming pets, babysitting, and training animals among other child and pet care freelance services have very few clients in the UAE. 10. Programming: Natural Language Processing and Decision Scientist
Programming is one of the most rewarding professions in the market.
However, you may want to reconsider offering natural language processing or decision science services as a freelancer in the UAE. The two programming sub-categories are not popular among those seeking freelancing services in the Emirate.
